This should be an exciting fight for all the hardcore boxing fans out there. Mitchell has a fast growing popularity, and Tszyu has a cult like following.

In 2001, they fought and Mitchell had supposed knee problems coming into the fight, and had to quit on his stool. Give Sharmba credit as he may have one a few rounds there.
Tszyu is coming off a almost 2 year layoff, and is said to be looking great in camp.

To make it quick, I like Mitchell here, and think he may want it a bit more. I still feel that it could go either way. Therefore I wont be playing a side in this one, but I really love the over 10.5 here. The only thing that makes me nervous is that somebody may get hurt during the fight and have to quit. Tszyu has been injured in his last 2 camps coming in to this, so his body is wearing down.

I will play the Over 10.5 -183 for 1 unit

Tszyu vs MItchell

I'm very interested in this fight and have ringside seats to it. I actually think that this might be the fight of the year. There have been 3 awesome p4p fights this year. Manny vs Marquez, DLH vs Hopkins, and this one. And this one will probably be the best. However, I just cant make a play on it. I would bet Tszyu against almost anybody and am starting to get the same way about Mitchell but I cant call this fight. I think Tszyu will probably break him down in the latter rounds but who knows about his ring rust?

Both of these guys are studs - I just cant call it. Mitchell definitely wont knock him out - I mean I just cant see it, but I think theres a possibility that Tszyu might wear Mitchell down. Tszyu is like a skilled Mickey Ward. Hes a bull that just keeps coming at you until you break. If I had to make a bet I would bet the over too because Mitchell should be able to handle it but damn - Tszyu just has a way of breaking guys. I cant pull the trigger.

I'll tell ya what though - if the winner of this fight moves up to fight Spinks I'll definitely be betting against Spinks in that fight.

I here ya Almly, This is such a tough one to call. I would never go against Tszyu, but the layoff has me thinking. I feel its best to stay away from a side, but I do like the over play here. Gonna keep it small though, because anything could happen here. By the way, I am very jealous you get to go to all these great fights. haha Enjoy yourself, I feel this may be one of the best of the year. If Mitchell is as ready as he is saying, this should be a classic.

Sphincter, I think those are the 2 best plays on the board. Those 2 fighters will be my biggest plays of the year. I just dont think I can watch the next 2 weeks of fights without betting on something.

i hear you,h.c.c.......i`ll find something to throw down on...have a little on the byrd/mccline over....and tied it up in a parlay with rahman....

i heard that rahman actually looks in good shape and actually trained hard for this fight....a shocker....

even though i consider rahman a bum,i`m not ready to jump on the meehan bandwagon off the brewster fight.......

i`d never lay-300 on rahman straight up....vs anybody....he`s deteriorated and mayweather`s a horrible trainer...

still, this fight can get rahman one more title shot....meehan shouldn`t be as hard to find or fight as ruiz....i expect rahman, even though shorter,to be the stronger guy.....

but,if he fights like he has recently....basically not letting his hands go(like brewster did vs meehan),he can lose....brewster,when he pressed, was stronger than meehan....rahman is stronger than brewster....

rahman`s chin can always be had.....but,as i said, not sure that looking good vs a brewster that fell asleep in that fight makes him a world beater....

we`ll see...

as bad as rahman has been recently....and he`s been bad....immobile....slow.....he`s bad.....and has been fighting out and out stiffs...

i still think he`ll be to strong for meehan....

i don`t think meehan is a big puncher at this level vs really big, strong guys like rahman...

rahman...although he`s deteriorated considerably since his earlier days,is still a brutally strong guy...

i expect him to rough meehan up...but he has to give himself room to punch...exactly what he didn`t do vs ruiz....

the qustions are......is mayweather still his trainer?....because mayweather`s a joke.....

and will rahman let his hands go?.....he`s had a tendency lately to stalk without punching...

meehan`s people should watch the ruiz tape and copy ruiz` miserable style to a tee....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i took a little mccline at+190 awhile back...

this is mccline`s kinda fight...vs a little man that can`t punch...

mccline doesn`t particularly like fighting big guys that can punch and inevitably fights safety first....

vs klitschko,i`m absolutely convinced he left the ring with a load in his pants...he must have soiled himself...

i don`t ever recall a pro fighter being as tense ,stiff and cautious as mccline was vs klit..he was scared to death..

he`ll probably have a full compliment of "coulumes" vs byrd....vs a little guy who will be fighting a defensive fight...

3 years ago, byrd totally outclasses mccline...but of late, byrd seems to be regressing....

i`d think that mccline has a shot...he`s really not a big puncher for a big man....

probably a distance fight,imo... not a big bet....as byrd USED TO BE sooo much better than mccline....

still trying to figure out whether mitchell is worth the +155.....isn`t this in russia?....mitchell hung tough in the first fight....and tszyu`s inactivity`s not good....

this isn`t like trinidad coming back vs a made to order, face first, poor technician like mayorga.....

mitchell is skilled and if you aren`t careful,he can put you on your butt...

I started a thread on the Mitchell-Tszyu thing bout a month ago. No love in the feedback dept. Once again, I'm on the
"little big man" Mitchell. Hopefully Kostya is looking past
Sharmba to other lucrative fights. Without a doubt Tszyu is
as focused and dedicated as they come. Mitchell has been
active against somewhat decent talent, but no worldbeaters.
I feel Tszyu thinks he will eventually find his target and KO
his opponent. I think Mitchell frustrates him and wins on pts.

Well, someone SHOULD win, or perhaps a draw? Lets face

it, what haven't we seen? It's OK for people to be intimidated
by Koysta as long as Mitchell isn't. I don't believe he is.
Lets just say he qualifies as a live dog. Is ok on the new thread as my is quite buried going 4-5 weeks back.

WWW.the sweetscience.com. Check out the boxing news-wire
area. N'dou, who fought Tszyu and sparred with same and
also fought Mitchell speaks. What I find telling is when he
states Tszyu walks around at 180lbs with a fat gut. Dropping
40 ain't easy. I just think more and more Tszyu goes for the fence with every shot and Mitchell keeps boxing. Nice web
site for boxing info.

Oddly enough I opened this Kosta -115. I anticipated dog action and it got pounded up. Seems everyone likes Sharmba publicly, but the money shows otherwise. I thought the 2 yr layoff would steer people on Sharmba much like Mayorga. Will be interesting to see if it gets bet down late. I think the # has gone too far now, but we shall see. Time will tell.

Yeah, I just noticed pinnacle up to +178 for Sharmba, that could make a pretty damn good scalp for your truly. As you know I don't care for scalping but with such a big move it is tempting . I agree with your post about people thinking this fight was pretty much a pick'em on boxing forums. I thought the line was done moving up when it hit about -160 but it has went up even more.

Took Mitchell for +180 at 5dimes. Nice odds. Too good to pass up when Tsyzu hasn't fought in so long. I do like Tsyzu for the rignt money (think Pinny has best price for him)... but to me... +180 has better value.

I also think the following is interesting at BET365.com:

TO SCORE A KNOCKDOWN:

Kostya Tszyu - Yes +130
Kostya Tszyu - No -180

Sharmba Mitchell - Yes +275
Sharmba Mitchell - No -450

Tszyu-Mitchell: Round-by-Round - 11/6/2004[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
by Live from Phoenix from Insidefighting.com

[font=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]
Live from Phoenix, it's time for Kostya Tszyu and Sharmba Mitchell for the World Jr. Welterweight Title. This is a rematch of their 2001 bout that saw Mitchell retire on his stool at the end of the seventh round after suffering a serious injury to his left knee. Mitchell believed he was winning that fight. Tszyu and the judges disagree. Tonight, all questions will be answered.

The fighters are entering the ring. Sharmba Mitchell is entering to "The Big Payback" by James Brown. Tszyu enters second accompanied by Larisa Dolina signing "Something Worth Fighting For," which is his traditional entrance.

Round 1
Fighters come out with Mitchell throwing the triple jab and circling to his right. Mitchell looks sharp. Mitchell lands two lead left hands. This is classic Sharmba Mitchell. Fighters tie up at the halfway point. Tszyu scores with some dirty boxing. Mitchell comes back with the lead left at the restart. They tie up again. Tszyu pounds him again. A pattern develops with Mitchell scoring at will from the outside and Tszyu winning the clinches. Tszyu lands a good right hand to end the round. Tszyu is bleeding above his left eye from a clash of heads. Mitchell 10-9

Round 2
The fighters tie up almost instantly. Tszyu is really hitting him with effective punches during the clinches. Tszyu lands a big right hand at the 2:10 mark. Mitchell is hurt. Tszyu is all over him. Mitchell is down. He beats the count, and comes out firing. Mitchell decides to stand and fight, which means he's hurt. He lands a big left. Tszyu walks through it and continues pressing. With a minute to go, Mitchell looks like he has his legs back. He is jabbing and working out. There is a lot of wrestling going on in the last 30 seconds. Tszyu rocks him again with a right hand behind the jab and lands a left hook that hurt him as the bell sounds. Dominant round for Tszyu. Tszyu 10-8

Round 3
Tszyu drops Mitchell almost immediately with a straight right hand. Tszyu presses to finish him and there is 2:30 remaining in the round. Mitchell is backed into a corner and fights out with good jabs. Tszyu now relaxes and goes back to a measured pace. Mitchell is looking to circle and jab, but Tszyu lands another right hand. One minute left. Tszyu rocks him with a left hook above the ear after a clinch. Mitchell is very wobbly with 40 seconds to go. Tszyyu lands another right hand. Mitchell is against the ropes. Tszyu pounds the body. Mitchell goes down again. He beats the count. 16 seconds left. Tszyu jumps all over him. Mitchell goes down again and the referee stops the fight with 12 seconds left.

Kostya Tszyu by technical knockout at 2:48 of round 3 to retain his World Jr. Welterweight Title.

mitchell can`t handle a physical guy like tszyu.....kostya basically had disdain for mitchell`s power....stepped inside and roughed mitchell up.....and mitchell couldn`t handle it....he looked to me like he wanted out of there in the second round.....

everyone that bet mitchell should have watched the first one......mitchell quit on his stool in that one......i didn`t remember it that way...but after seeing the film,i`m pretty sure mitchell didn`t like getting roughed up in the first bout and took the available exit...

raul caiz let tszyu rough him up inside...hold and hit early.....and mitchell didn`t like it one bit....

tzsyu`s a smart cookie...he took mitchell`s heart again...

i was shocked at how big vivian harris looked in the ring after the fight......
